God, by His abundant grace, instituted Okkiyampet Christian Brethren Assembly with five believers, on 4^th February 2001. The church gathered in Bro. Gnanaraj’s (the Evangelist of the Assembly) house at 3154, Kannagi Nagar, Okkiyampettai, Chennai – 600097.

By the grace of God, the ministry flourished and the congregation increased. Due to lack of adequate space, the church moved to the present place of worship, i.e., 5/232, Madha Koil Street, Okkiyampettai, Chennai – 600097 in the year 2007. It was a terrace of a building with an area of 450 Sq. ft. The assembly built a hall with thatched roof and gathered there. The next year, the thatched roof was damaged in fire. The assembly set up an asbestos roof in the year 2008 and has been gathering there since.

Presently, the Assembly has 92 members including children.
